Leftists, Lying, and Reality
Leftists frequently fake reality in many forms; this is because leftist political beliefs aren’t in harmony with reality (which is another way of saying that they are impractical and immoral). Often, this means leftists refrain from telling the whole truth about important matters. But sometimes, this desire to fake reality becomes so deeply ingrained that a leftist will lie about even the most trivial of matters. One example of this happened on March 4, 2007, when Barack Obama told a crowd in Selma, Alabama that “There was something stirring across the country because of what happened in Selma, Alabama, because some folks are willing to march across a bridge. So they [Obama's parents] got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born.” The three famous Selma to Montgomery civil rights marches all took place in 1965; while Obama was born in 1961 — four years earlier than “what happened in Selma.” A strikingly similar example comes from Obama’s Secretary of State Hillary “I’ve always been a Yankees fan” Clinton. In 1995 Clinton commented that “when I was born, [my mother] called me Hillary, and she always told me it’s because of Sir Edmund Hillary.” Sir Edmund Hillary did not become famous until 1953, when he became one of the first two men to climb Mount Everest. Hillary Clinton was born in 1947; in 1947 Edmund Hillary was an non-famous beekeeper. Politicians who lie about important matters are harmful enough. But when they descend into lying about even trivial matters, voter truly beware, because the person who will lie to himself (or herself) about trivial matters evinces a deeply ingrained desire to avoid reality.

While I agree that Obama is an inveterate liar, he might have meant here that in the spirit of non-discrimination arising from Selma, his mother had sex with a black student at the University of Hawaii from Kenya, became pregnant, had him marry her, and then left him immediately.
This does nothing to absolve his claims that he would eliminate world disease and poverty as president, that he would keep unemployment below 8%, that government racial discriminations would end, that government would become transparent, that he would end government graft, that the world faces catastrophe due to man-made emissions of CO2, that health insurance reform would allow us to keep our present insurance and that preventive health care would lower costs, and that there would be no new taxes on the middle class, to mention a few of his lies.
