I have a CRUSH…on a whole lotta SMART GIRLS

So it was over a week ago that I along with my other RFC radio compadres attended the first ever Smart girl summit in Nashville, Tennessee.

I’m still in awe.

Why? Because I had the honor to be in the presence of people who actually give a DAMN!!! The ladies ( and few men ) who took the time to attend this activist training and networking event care deeply about the direction that this country is heading and want to get involved to change it. It is a very humbling experience to be in the room with such patriots. These people traveled from all over the country to be with like minded individuals who are concerned where this nation is headed.

The leadership team over at Smart Girl Politics led by Stacy Mott are not the political operatives that have come from the Obama Chicago political machines or from some group of overpaid fat cats from the RNC. These are mothers, wives, sisters, who have bandied together to try and stop the lunacy of the polices that OUR government is trying to implement in OUR name.

That is why I’m still in awe. The ladies who put together this conference and attended
are one of the reasons that this country still has hope.( and not that phony brand we were just recently sold) That a brighter day still lies ahead for America and for all her citizens. When every day citizens gather together and plan how to go back into our communities and start to make a difference almost a year and a half before the next national elections you know that CHANGE is coming, and not the type Washington is currently trying to tell us we need.

So to everyone who attended, I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for re inspiring me and re assuring me that with people such as you on my side, we will never truly be lost. That this country is still the best place on the big blue marble we call Earth to live, and that a real version of Hope and Change is on it’s way for 2010!!

I end this lil post with the words of the 40th President of the United States whom I think would have loved to been part of this movement

I know in my heart that man is good.
That what is right will always eventually triumph.
And there’s purpose and worth to each and every life.
Ronald Reagan
40th president of US (1911 – 2004)
