Jimmy Carter’s Bad Decisions Still Haunt the U.S. Today
Located in Atlanta, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum re-opened on Thursday, October 1st. Jay Hakes, the museum’s director, notes that “a lot of the things he [Carter] was struggling with then [during his 1977-80 presidency], we are still struggling with today.” Do tell. If Carter hadn’t been such an awful president, perhaps today we wouldn’t be wrestling with those issues — to cite an obvious example, the anti-American, Jew-hating terrorists still heading up the Iranian government 30 years following the Iran Hostage Crisis. Carter himself remarks that the intention of the facility is to “present the truth about every aspect of my past experiences in politics and so forth.” Somehow though, my guess is that the museum falls far, far short of accurately describing the harmful effects of Carter’s leftist political views.
