Jobs Allegedly “Created or Saved” Another Obama Untruth

Obama’s deeply troubled relationship with the truth continues. Last month, the Obama White House made the claim that the so-called “stimulus” Obama got made into law earlier this year allegedly “created or saved” over 600,000 jobs. This claim turned out to be fraudulent in numerous ways. Two of the numerous examples include (1) 26,000 so-called “saved” jobs in which California State University administrators later admitted none of those jobs were in jeopardy, (2) jobs cited as “created or saved” in political districts that don’t exist, such as Arizona’s fictional 15th congressional district and Connecticut’s fictional 42nd congressional district. But the biggest piece of fraud of all is that the 600,000-plus figure cited by Obama’s White House utterly excludes job losses directly caused by the redistribution of wealth. Government spending comes at an enormous opportunity cost: private citizens and companies have less to invest, since they’re forced at the point of a gun (or via inflation) to pay for government’s bloat. This renders them less able to hire new employees or even keep existing employees. This is the biggest reason that the U.S. unemployment rate is now 10% — well above the 8% high point that Obama and his economic advisors predicted if the so-called “stimulus” was made into law. That Obama and his advisors totally omit from their calculations these hundreds of thousands of job losses directly caused by their so-called “stimulus,” shows that they are either utterly incompetent or thoroughly dishonest — or both.
