What Part of “No” Do Democrats Not Understand?
The U.S. Supreme Court recently struck down parts of a law which infringed upon free-speech rights. This was proper, as the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution reads in part: “Congress shall make no law… abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press…” In response to this most welcome Supreme Court ruling, many Democratic politicians have openly expressed their contempt for free speech. Some of the most thoroughly awful politicians — such as Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senator John Kerry (D-MA), and Congressman John Conyers (D-MI) — have gone so far as to propose amending the Constitution so that free-speech rights can be legally violated by the federal government. The best response to these anti-free speech hysterics is provided by political commentator (and TIA Daily editor) Robert Tracinski: “What part of ‘no’ do the Democrats not understand?”
