Recently, government school employee Rita Wilson complained to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie that she isn’t being paid enough given her “education and experience” — she demands $83,000 per year. Governor Christie’s response was excellent: “Well, you know then that you don’t have to do it [teach]“. Bravo for Christie’s willingness to stand up for his state’s taxpayers! Subsequently, it was found out that Wilson’s salary is already over $86,000 per year. Too bad Wilson doesn’t work in the private sector, where her arrogance, dishonesty, and lack of gratitude would land her a well-deserved pink slip.

Greek rioters demand that other people be forced — in the alleged name of “compassion” — to pay for their lifestyles… or else those rioters will destroy their property and bash their faces in? If that’s “compassion,” count me out. “Atlas Shrugged” author Ayn Rand was right: “Do not hide behind such superficialities as whether you should or should not give a dime to a beggar. That is not the issue. The issue is whether you do or do not have the right to exist without giving him that dime. The issue is whether you must keep buying your life, dime by dime, from any beggar who might choose to approach you.” The Greek rioters — like all socialists — proclaim loudly that other individuals have no moral rights to their own life, liberty, and property. Let us condemn all such thugs, who demand benevolence at the point of a gun.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg recently suggested that the failed Times Square bombing might have been caused by “someone against the health care bill” — in other words, folks who oppose the Democratic Party’s recent hostile takeover of our nation’s healthcare industry. Ah yes, those dastardly tea partiers, with their — gasp! — peaceful rallies, peaceful waving of American flags, and peaceful attendance of town hall meetings. How dare they! Of course, within a few days, Bloomberg was proven wrong — the bomber is an adherent of the Religion of Peace (shocker!), and received months of (thankfully inept) training from terrorists in Pakistan. Perhaps one day Bloomberg will understand that initiations of force are far less likely to be committed by folks who value all individuals’ unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; and far more likely to be committed by the people who most consistently adhere to the same rotten-to-the-core belief system that led a small handful of bloodthirsty terrorists to fly passenger-loaded airplanes into two iconic New York City skyscrapers one day back in September 2001, thus murdering about 3,000 innocents. But given Bloomberg’s cluelessness, I doubt it.

Although I give one cheer to those states that are taking Washington D.C. to court regarding the unconstitutional mandate that all individuals be forced to buy health insurance, these states largely miss the point. Even if these lawsuits succeed, all states’ most economically-productive citizens will still be punished for what socialists view as the “crime” of being peaceful and highly productive. I refer to the provision of the Democratic Party’s hostile takeover of our nation’s healthcare system that requires some individuals’ and families’ taxes to go up by a large amount. This provision of the law is deeply immoral, as it is a violation of wage-earners’ rights to their own property (in this case, their income). Shame on the bureaucrats who have comfort with the idea that it is somehow morally OK to seize income by force (legalized theft) so that it can be redistributed to politically-correct segments of the voting population (legalized bribery). I encourage all 50 states to stand up for their citizens’ unalienable rights to liberty and property by taking Washington D.C. to court over this newest seizure of income from the only folks who have a proper moral claim to it — those that peacefully earned it in the first place.

Now I’m not going to pretend that I know a whole helluva lot about Wisconsin politics. I know I HATE the Green Bay Packers, but I’m a Lions fan and I hate the Pack because they have been successful and the Lions have sucked . I can admit that and I’m kinda ok with my lot in life hating other cities football teams because mine SUCKS.
Now I assume that the fine people of Wisconsin are just like us here in the not so fine state of Michigan. We love our sports teams our families and friends and of course our country. So imagine my surprise when I see a campaign ad about a candidate running for the GOP nomination for Guv in Wisconsin and his criticism of the Arizona Law recently passed. I know that in the north we might be more afraid of Canadians tripping across the border but Illegal is Illegal right?
Are you kidding me? How in the HELL can you be against this law and be in the GOP? The law is almost a carbon copy of Federal Law and you never heard a PEEP out of ANY GOP member about it. That he flip flopped in my mind is secondary….if you don’t believe that illegals should not be apprehended you don’t believe in the rule of law in this country and SHOULD NOT be a office holder. Period.
There will be discussions on the appropriate way to deal with the Illegal Immigrant problem that both parties have allowed to prosper. Ignoring a common sense law is not the way to start the way to fixing this.
If you believe that it is…..you might as well put a brown bag over head and stick it in the sand.
I encourage all individuals who value their unalienable moral right to speak freely to participate in Everybody Draw Mohammed Day on May 20th. I am not a Muslim, and as such, should not be expected by anyone to follow the tenets of Islam, including but not limited to Islam’s prohibition against artistic portrayals of Mohammed. Those who argue that I should refrain from participating in Everybody Draw Mohammed Day, are making a de facto argument that I should — at least in part — subscribe to Islamic beliefs. My response? I will not submit!

Now I might get in trouble for saying this among my conservative brethren, but I think it needs to be said. I have a sneaking suspicion that Keith Olbermann would be a great guy to go to a ballgame with. I do, I really do. The only problem is his night time job turns him into a volcano of Hate Speech which really can’t be ignored.
On Monday the website Respect The Great Game was launched with the intent of asking a very simple question .Why would the people who are entrusted with care taking America’s pastime willingly associate themselves with Keith Olbermann? Keith writes a blog on MLB.com and it is troubling to a great many people. The site showcases some of Olbermann’s most incendiary rants against former President Bush, and other ordinary citizens who make up the majority of those who love going too and watching baseball games. If his employers at MSNBC are comfortable with the modern day Joe McCarthy ranting and raving that is their right. America’s pastime though should be held at a higher standard than to allow Olberman to continue his 21st century brand of McCarthyism on his night job and be associated with baseball in any official capacity.
Stop by the site today and sign the petition which will be delivered to the Commissioner of Major League Baseball asking why the Crown Prince of Hate Speech is allowed to sully by association the game which is at the heart of this great country of ours.
The question is worth asking. The answer should be interesting.
Hopefully I will be able to one day and see if my theory is correct and watch a ball game with the Hate Speech Merchant himself. I’ll just pretend I’m Dan Patrick.
Meddling bureaucrats in Santa Clara County, California have voted to pass a law preventing restaurants from giving away free toys as part of kids’ meals. No, I am not making this up: this is really happening in America, today. At its best, America stands for freedom — or, as it was memorably put in our Declaration of Independence: all individuals have “certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” I condemn the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, which seeks to prevent their fellow Americans from buying certain food and toys for their children, thus violating these individuals’ (and restaurant owners’) unalienable rights to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Liberty is under heavy assault in America — witness for example the recent hostile takeover by Washington D.C. of our nation’s healthcare industry. I encourage all Americans to stand up for their rights by opposing all tyrants and their hatred of liberty — and the shameful supporters of these tyrants.
